As Google update its search engine to the Hummingbird algorithm the whole concept of SEO has changed. I can say this with certainty although many would disagree with my views. My points of view are given below and it is up to you to decide whether you want to think along my views or carry on with your current SEO strategies.
My biggest argument in favor ot changed SEO has changed because Google update its search engine to the Hummingbird algorithm is based on how Hummingbird is going to make changes in online searches. Before Hummingbird Google search was about looking at keywords and then for websites containing those keywords.
Now the focus is on the meaning of the keywords and finding out the right sites. People say that this change in algorithm is due to an increased dependency on mobile and voice search and this is absolutely right. Google needs to compete with Siri and this is the reason Google update its search engine to the Hummingbird algorithm. Now when you search for something in Google, Google tries to understand what you mean and not what you typed and this is how it can offer you better search results.
Semantics are now playing huge roles in Google
Semantics are now playing huge roles in Google searches and your preferences and your location decide which websites get displayed to you in SERPs. Content is going to play a major role as Google update its search engine to the Hummingbird algorithm. For any webmaster and their SEO partner quality and updated content that offers what the user wants is the order of the day. Google is also considering author rank as one of the important criterion and for any content writer an updated and interesting profile on Google+ is a must have.
Google wants to attribute great content to its author and this is the only way this can be done. Does this mean the end of link building? Not at all… link building will continue to happen and it should. However, link building should be done with top content and it should be done naturally. Google Analytics will not offer keyword analysis now and hence, focus on descriptive keywords is a must. In any case the most popular keywords belong to the richest companies. But with this new update Google has made it a more level playing field. Niche websites with great content are set to rule the Google search scene now. So, SEO has changed after all.
It’s interesting how the fact that Google update its search engine to the Hummingbird algorithm hasn’t affected some of the SEO experts. When you look at the profiles of these SEO professionals you will find that they are all into predictive SEO.
This means that they already have their plan in place for keeping up with the changes in the Google Webmaster Guidelines. If you ask me one name immediately comes to mind. I cannot but think of someone like Gamit, an SEO company with more than six years of experience in this domain.
